Antonio Amengual Colom

Dr. Antonio Amengual Colom is a Full Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), specializing in Applied Physics. He currently serves as Director of the Syndicate of Greuges (Ombudsman) and maintains active teaching and research roles within the Faculty of Sciences.

His research focuses on Mechanics, Material Properties, and Heat Measurement Techniques as part of the Materials Physics (FISMAT) research group. His expertise spans both theoretical physics and practical applications in industrial and health contexts.

Amengual Colom has made significant contributions to physics education, having served as Physics test specialist and coordinator for university entrance exams since 2008, and coordinator for access exams for those over 25 years old since 2001. He previously held leadership positions as Vice-Dean and Head of Physics Studies, and served as Dean of the Faculty of Sciences from January 2012 to February 2019.

His teaching portfolio includes Vector Calculus for Physics degrees, Industrial Hygiene for Occupational Risk Prevention Master's programs, Applied Physics to Health Sciences, Electromagnetism and Waves, and Mechanics across various engineering disciplines.

As an academic administrator, he currently directs the Syndicate of Greuges while maintaining active teaching responsibilities for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 academic years across multiple degree and master's programs.
