Antonia Marsden is a Research Fellow at the University of Manchester in the Division of Population Health, Health Services Research & Primary Care. She is part of the Biostatistics Collaboration Unit and specializes in analyzing observational data, particularly primary care databases. Her work focuses on subgroup/interaction analyses, causal inference in observational studies, and statistical applications in nursing, midwifery, and audiology. She leads the Statistics module for the MClinRes Clinical Research program and co-supervises two PhD students in Nursing, Midwifery, and Social Work.
Education: PhD in Medicine (University of Manchester, 2016), MSc in Statistics (Lancaster University, 2013), BSc in Mathematics (University of St Andrews, 2012).
Research interests include methodological advancements in stratified medicine, healthcare quality evaluation, and digital health interventions for chronic diseases. She contributes to teaching epidemiology and medical statistics across multiple programs, including the MPH Public Health and Scientist Training Programme.
Professional roles include former Chair (2020–2021) and Secretary (2018–2020) of the Royal Statistical Society Manchester local group. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to good health and well-being, and quality education.
