Antonia Girardi

Antonia Girardi is a Professor and Pro Vice Chancellor at the College of Business, Murdoch University, where she also serves as Dean of the Murdoch Business School. She holds an adjunct position at the University of Notre Dame Australia. With a Doctor of Philosophy in Organizational Psychology (University of Western Australia, 2000), she also holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the same institution (1993). Her expertise spans work design, psychological wellbeing in academia, higher education management, and paradox leadership. She has mentored 20 HDR candidates and received the Vice Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (2015). Her research focuses on academic staff wellbeing during crises, teamwork pedagogy, and organizational change. Recent work addresses the psychological safety of employees in higher education and the impact of workplace dynamics on well-being. Her scholarship includes over 30 publications, with seven in top-tier journals.

Key areas of investigation include the mediating effects of skill utilization in job design (1998), cultural values in Total Quality Management (2005), and the relationship between procedural justice and organizational status (2003). She has pioneered studies on volunteer management and the implementation of innovative teaching frameworks, such as the 'interaction for learning' curriculum model evaluated using Kirkpatrick's model (2016).
