Antoni Bergas Forteza

Antoni Bergas Forteza is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Law at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB). He holds a Law degree, a Master's in Public Finance, Tax Systems and Procedures, and a Master's in Legal Practice from UIB, with specialized training in international taxation from institutions like Leiden University and the Institute for Fiscal Studies.

His research focuses on International Tax Law and taxation within the digital economy. He is currently pursuing doctoral studies at UIB while participating in the R&D&I group Derecho y Nuevas Tecnologías (CEDIB). He has conducted research stays at the Max Planck Institute for Tax Law and Public Finance (Munich) and the Institute for Tax Law at the University of Münster.

Teaching experience includes Financial and Tax Law for the Law Degree at UIB (2020-21 to 2025-26) and Fundamentals of Tax Law for the Labor Relations Degree. Professionally, he has worked in treasury legal advice, tax consultancy for inheritances and non-residents, and as a public servant.
