Antonella Macerollo

Dr. Antonella Macerollo is a Visiting Researcher at Manchester Metropolitan University and a Consultant Neurologist at the Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust. Her research focuses on neuroimaging biomarkers for Parkinson’s disease, dystonia, tremor, and advanced therapies like deep brain stimulation (DBS) and MRI-guided focused ultrasound. She holds a PhD in Neuroscience from University College London (2018).

Her current projects include developing neuroimaging pathways for tremor patients undergoing MRI-guided focused ultrasound and improving equity in access to functional neurosurgery for movement disorder patients. She has secured grants including the NIHR North West Coast Research Scholarship (2.5 years) and Advanced Research Scholarship (2023).
