Dr. Anton Malko is an Assistant Professor of Physics at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), affiliated with the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. He leads the Optics and Ultrafast Spectroscopy Laboratory, focusing on advanced optical materials and quantum phenomena.
Education: Ph.D. in Physics from New Mexico State University (2002) and B.S. in Physics and Applied Math from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (1998). His research spans quantum dots, nonlinear optics, single-photon sources, and optoelectronic materials. Notable contributions include studies on colloidal nanocrystals, perovskite-based devices, and femtosecond spectroscopy.
His research interests include:
- Molecular sorting via microfluidics and optical tweezers
- Photoluminescence of semiconductor quantum dots
- Single-photon correlation spectroscopy
- Optical gain and lasing in nanocrystals
- Nonlinear optical phenomena in quantum materials
Awards:
- NSF Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award (2014)
- Los Alamos Achievement Award (2001)
Key projects include NSF-funded studies on perovskite-based optoelectronics and industry collaborations with Finisar Corporation on photonic crystal technologies. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and serves as a reviewer for journals such as Physical Review Letters and Nature Communications.
