Anton Emilsson is a doctoral graduate in Practical Philosophy from the Department of Philosophy at Lund University, part of the Faculty of Humanities and Theology. He completed his PhD in 2024 with a thesis on P. F. Strawson’s philosophy of free will and moral responsibility, conducted within the Lund Gothenburg Responsibility Project (LGRP). He is also a member of the European Moral Responsibility Consortium (EMRC) and serves as Vice Editor-in-Chief of the popular philosophy journal Svensk filosofi.
His research interests span a wide range of topics in analytic philosophy, including moral responsibility, free will, moral luck, meta-philosophy, philosophical methodology, the philosophy of Bernard Williams, ordinary language philosophy, and the history of analytic philosophy. He also engages with issues in meta-ethics and political philosophy. His interdisciplinary orientation is reflected in his fingerprint analysis, which links his work to psychology, medicine, and pragmatics.
The most recent articles show a strong thematic consistency, focusing on moral responsibility, free will, and philosophical methodology. They reflect both scholarly depth and a commitment to public engagement through accessible writing in Svensk filosofi. His doctoral thesis and related publications demonstrate a sustained engagement with Strawsonian compatibilism and the moral reactive attitudes.
