Anton Benz

Dr. Anton Benz is a Senior Researcher at Leibniz-Zentrum Allgemeine Sprachwissenschaft specializing in game-theoretic approaches to pragmatics. As principal investigator of the 'Linguistic Meaning and Bayesian Modelling' project, he develops formal models of conversational implicature and question-answer systems.

His research combines game theory, experimental methods, and computational modeling to understand how meaning is negotiated in dialogue. He has led multiple DFG-funded projects including SIGames (Experimental Game Theory and Scalar Implicatures) and BAPAGiD (Bayesian Answer Generation).
