Andreea Nicolae

Dr. Andreea Nicolae is Senior Researcher and Research Manager in the ERC project 'Realizing Leibniz's Dream' at Leibniz-Zentrum Allgemeine Sprachwissenschaft, focusing on semantics and pragmatics. She investigates how logical structures are expressed and interpreted across languages.

Research examines polarity sensitivity, question semantics, and the grammatical encoding of implicature calculation. Currently leads DFG project CrossConn exploring cross-linguistic expression of logical connectives.

Recent publications analyze disjunction interpretation in child language, semantic composition of quantifiers, and experimental approaches to logic in language. Work integrates theoretical linguistics with psycholinguistic experimentation.

Teaches advanced topics in quantification and implicature computation. Supervises student research in formal semantics and language acquisition.
