Dr. Antoinette Y. Odendaal holds multiple roles at Southern Arkansas University: Associate Professor of Biology and Chemistry, Assistant Dean of the College of Science & Engineering, and Pre-Health Advisor. She leads the Natural Products and Daphnia Research Laboratory, involving undergraduates in multidisciplinary projects.
Educations:
- B.A. in Chemistry, University of Southern Maine (2003)
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, University of New Hampshire (2009)
Her research focuses on in vitro toxicity assessments using Daphnia magna, natural product isolation from plants, and drug delivery systems. She pioneered chelator stability studies for cancer imaging during her graduate work, and developed natural product extraction technologies as a postdoc at Indiana University (2009–2011).
