Antoine LASSAGNE is affiliated with the Department of Anthropology at Université Laval, Quebec. He holds a PhD in anthropology and specializes in the intersection of tropical forest management, sustainable development, and colonial/post-colonial power dynamics. His research focuses on Cameroon's Dja Forest region, examining how historical colonial frameworks influence contemporary resource exploitation and conservation efforts.
Key works include a seminal 2005 article published in Anthropologie et sociétés, analyzing the complex interplay between logging industries, conservation initiatives, and local Badjoué communities. His fieldwork (1999–2001) involved collaborations with Belgian and international NGOs, highlighting tensions between development projects and indigenous rights.
