Antoine Dubiau is a Doctoral Assistant and PhD candidate in Geography at the University of Geneva, specializing in political ecology and environmental humanities. His research examines the intersection of far-right ideologies with environmental discourse, particularly focusing on ecofascism, urban-rural dynamics, and the epistemology of geography. He teaches courses including Introductory Geography Seminar, Political Geography, and Nature and Environment in Contemporary Visual Cultures.
Research Focus: Dubiau's work critically analyzes how ecological issues are appropriated by fascist movements, the intellectual history of bioregionalism, and socio-spatial fragmentation in declining urban territories. His research bridges political theory, environmental studies, and critical geography.
Publications: His articles explore themes of ecofascism, climate skepticism in far-right governance, and bioregionalism, consistently examining the political weaponization of environmental discourse. His 2022 book Ecofascisms analyzes the ideological foundations of far-right environmentalism.
Public Engagement: Dubiau frequently contributes to media outlets like Libération, Usbek&Rica, and France Inter, discussing environmental politics and far-right ideology. He has presented at international conferences including Uppsala University's Political Ecologies of the Far Right Conference and ENS Paris.
