Prof. Antje Krause is the current President of TH Bingen since November 2021. She has held academic leadership roles including Vice President for Research (2012-2015) and Professor of Bioinformatics at TH Bingen since 2007. Her professional journey includes prior roles as Deputy/Temporary Professor at TH Wildau and research positions at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics and the German Cancer Research Center.
Education:
- Dr.rer.nat. (PhD) in Natural Sciences from University of Bielefeld (2002)
- Studies in Computer Science in Natural Sciences at University of Bielefeld (1990-1996)
Research Focus: Bioinformatics with emphasis on computational molecular biology, protein sequence analysis, genome-wide studies, and bioinformatics database development. Key projects include SYSTERS protein family database and contributions to understanding vertebrate genome evolution. Recent work involves AI-driven immunology research and applied bioinformatics education programs.
