Anthony Zanesco is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Kentucky's College of Arts & Sciences. His research focuses on cognitive neuroscience, particularly attention, mind wandering, mindfulness, and EEG/ERP methodologies. He received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis and completed postdoctoral work at the University of Miami.
Zanesco's research examines:
- Neural dynamics of attention and mind wandering
- Effects of meditation on brain function
- EEG microstate analysis
- Cognitive performance in high-stress populations
His recent publications (2020-2025) demonstrate a methodological focus on longitudinal designs, EEG techniques, and clinical applications. Article trends show strong emphasis on mindfulness interventions, neural correlates of attention, and cognitive assessment in military contexts.
Zanesco coordinates clinical psychology internships and serves as faculty advisor for Psi Chi. He will be recruiting Ph.D. students starting Fall 2025 and maintains the NeuroCognition Lab investigating electrophysiological correlates of cognitive states.
