Anthony Smith

Dr. Anthony Smith is a Lecturer in Television Theory at the University of Salford's School of Arts, Media and Creative Technologies, where he has been employed since 2014. He holds a PhD in Film & Television Studies from the University of Nottingham (2013) and maintains research affiliations with the Creative Technology Research Centre.

His research examines media industry practices through three interconnected domains:

• Media production ecosystems and industrial contexts
• Narrative construction across television, gaming, and transmedia environments
• Genre evolution in multiplatform cultures

Smith investigates how technological platforms shape storytelling conventions and audience engagement.
