Anthony Robinson serves as an Associate Professor and CONNECT Funded Investigator within the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at Trinity College Dublin. His research spans experimental and computational thermal sciences, thermodynamics, and applied energy systems with field experience across Ireland, France, Canada, and Africa.
His primary research focuses on advanced thermal management solutions including thermal interface materials, single- and two-phase liquid cooling systems, extreme heat flux management, heat pipe technologies, and enhanced convective cooling methods for electronics. This work bridges fundamental heat transfer science with practical engineering applications in high-performance computing and network infrastructure.
Robinson has authored over 130 peer-reviewed publications, 70+ technical industry reports, 8 invention disclosures, and 7 patents. As a CONNECT Centre investigator, he leads research teams developing thermal management innovations critical to dependable network systems, with particular emphasis on electronics cooling challenges in next-generation computing environments.
