Dr Anthony Page is a Senior Lecturer in History at the University of Tasmania’s School of Humanities, specializing in eighteenth-century British history. He teaches British, European, American, and world history, with a focus on Enlightenment, revolution, and empire. His research includes the Wodrow-Kenrick Correspondence project (Oxford University Press), a scholarly edition of letters between Rev. James Wodrow and Samuel Kenrick, illuminating Enlightenment-era intellectual networks. He authored Britain and the Seventy Years War: Enlightenment, Revolution and Empire, 1744–1815 and co-edited volumes on William Blackstone and eighteenth-century reform movements.
Education: PhD in British history (University of Adelaide, 1999), DipEd (University of Melbourne, 1997), BA (Hons) in History (La Trobe University, 1991).
Research Interests: Eighteenth-century British political culture, Enlightenment, revolutionary movements, Rational Dissent, and the impact of war on state formation. His work explores intersections between fiscal policy, naval strategy, and imperial expansion.
Publications: Over 20 peer-reviewed articles and books, including studies on Richard Price’s radicalism, Lachlan Macquarie’s Enlightenment influences, and the American Revolution’s impact on British reformers.
Awards: Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, membership in ANZSECS, Religious History Association, and Tasmanian Historical Research Association.
