Anthony M. Yezer is a Professor of Economics and Full-time Faculty at The George Washington University, where he directs the Center for Economic Research. He holds a Bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College, an M.Sc. from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Doctoral degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His research focuses on regional and urban economics, migration of labor and capital, and applications of microeconomic theory to areas like mortgage lending and natural disaster impacts. He has been a Fellow of the Homer Hoyt School of Advanced Studies in Real Estate and Urban Economics since 1991.
Yezer has served as an expert witness for the Federal Trade Commission and testified before Congress on credit market regulation and subprime lending. He contributed to the National Research Council's Panel on Disaster Research Needs in the Social Sciences. He currently serves on the editorial boards of five journals and edits the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association monograph series.
His research interests span spatial competition, optimal city size, and the energy footprint of cities. Beyond academia, he enjoys golf, tennis, and gardening.
