Anthony Lagina is an Associate Professor at the Wayne State University School of Medicine, affiliated with the Department of Emergency Medicine. His work spans clinical research, teaching, and leadership in emergency care.
- Education: MD from Wayne State University (1998-2002), B.S. in Biochemistry with honors from Michigan State University (1993-1997), and postgraduate research training in biochemistry (1997-1998).
Lagina's research focuses on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), therapeutic hypothermia, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Recent publications highlight resuscitation techniques for cardiac arrest, advanced life support guidelines, and emergency hyperkalemia management.
His scholarly contributions include leadership roles in the American College of Emergency Physicians and contributions to the Advanced Life Support Chapter Collaborators for the International Consensus on CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care. Lagina also mentors students in wilderness medicine.
