Anthony Kimpton

Anthony Kimpton is a Lecturer in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Southern Queensland's School of Surveying and Built Environment. With expertise spanning urban planning, data science, and transport economics, his research leverages big data to analyze urban mobility, parking policy, and social equity. Kimpton holds a PhD from the University of Queensland (Dean's Award for Outstanding Thesis) and has held positions at the Australian Bureau of Statistics and Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network.

He teaches courses including Planning Structures and Statutory Planning (URP2001) and Regional Planning (URP3200). Kimpton's publications examine e-scooter adoption patterns, parking policy reform, and urban emissions disparities. His research has been funded through AURIN High Impact Projects and addresses UN Sustainable Development Goals related to sustainable cities and climate action.
