Professor Anthony Keith Brown is a Professor of Radiative Electromagnetics at Queen Mary, University of London, and holds adjunct roles as Professor Emeritus at the University of Manchester and a visiting academic at the Cavendish Laboratories, University of Cambridge. He previously served as Head of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Manchester and Associate Dean for Teaching and Learning there. His industrial background includes founding Easat Antennas Ltd (now Easat Radar Systems Ltd) in 1987, where he held leadership roles before becoming Chief Technical Consultant.
His research focuses on antennas and propagation, particularly broadband phased arrays, radar systems, and radio astronomy instrumentation. Key areas include antenna measurement via drone systems, propagation effects in complex environments (e.g., wind farms), and maritime surveillance radar clutter analysis. He has authored 170 papers, five patents, and contributed to two books.
Professor Brown has chaired major international conferences, including co-chairing the 2018 European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EUCAP). He is a member of the UK research group for the Square Kilometre Array telescope and has served on standards bodies such as the EU COST ASSIST action and EUROCAE WG-41.
