Anthony Johnson is an Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University, specializing in the cultural mechanisms of inequality reproduction in education. His research examines how collaborative learning approaches in elite STEM programs perpetuate disparities through peer group dynamics. He holds a Ph.D. from Northwestern University.
His work has been published in journals like the American Sociological Review and Sociology of Education, and supported by major grants including the National Academy of Education/Spencer Foundation and National Science Foundation. His current book project, Engineering Advantage, investigates inequality in collaboration within elite STEM programs.
Johnson’s research intersects stratification, gender, race, and class analysis, employing qualitative methods to uncover systemic educational inequities.
