Anthony J. Fisher

Anthony J. Fisher serves as Dean of the School of Communication Arts at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) since 2013. Previously, he held roles including Chair of Sequential Arts (2010–2013) and Professor (2009–2010). He holds an M.F.A. in Sequential Art from SCAD and a B.S. in Individualized Studies from Eastern Michigan University.

His research focuses on integrating visual narrative into education, digital art pedagogy, and the application of sequential art in storytelling. Notable presentations include 'Comics in the Curriculum: Educational Experience of Visual Narrative' (2011) and 'Theory of Visual Relativity in Sequential Art' (2010).

Awarded for editorial and political cartooning, Fisher has also led creative initiatives in corporate branding (e.g., IBM, Alzheimer’s Association) and media design through his freelance career and roles at Championship Auto Racing Teams and Lawrence Technological University.

He has contributed to program development in architectural imaging, online teaching, and accreditation efforts. His creative work spans over 25 years, emphasizing design, illustration, and web solutions for diverse clients.
