Anthony Charles Ebert

Anthony Charles Ebert is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Aalborg University's Department of Clinical Medicine within the Faculty of Medicine, where he collaborates with the National Center of Excellence for Molecular Prediction of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (PREDICT). He completed his PhD in statistics at Queensland University of Technology under Professor Kerrie Mengersen, followed by postdoctoral research at Università della Svizzera italiana in Switzerland and Harvard School of Public Health.

His research focuses on advancing statistical methodology and its applications in epidemiology, particularly in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Key areas include cohort analysis, comorbidity risk assessment, and Bayesian statistical modeling. Ebert has authored seminal papers in high-impact journals like Journal of the Royal Statistical Society and Nature Communications, and developed the queuecomputer R package, widely used in statistical simulation.

Recent work includes studies on IBD phenome-wide associations, risk factors for IBD following infectious mononucleosis, and surgical vs. pharmacological outcomes in Crohn’s disease. His contributions have been highlighted in ECCO plenary talks and on the cover of Gastroenterology.
