Anthony Casadonte is an Instructor in the Philosophy Department at the University of Colorado Denver, teaching at the International College Beijing campus since Spring 2023. He oversees the philosophy minor program there. His expertise spans Daoism, Phenomenology (with a focus on Heidegger), German Idealism, and Comparative Philosophy.
Education: Currently pursuing a Philosophy PhD at the University of Kentucky (in progress). Holds an MA in Philosophy from Duquesne University and a BA in Gender Studies from the University of Southern California.
Teaching: Courses include Introduction to Philosophy, Ethics, Chinese Philosophy (Daoism, Daodejing, Zhuangzi), Western Philosophy (Hegel, Existentialism, Late Heidegger), and Ideology & Culture.
Research: Focuses on comparative philosophical frameworks bridging East-West traditions, particularly intersections between Daoist thought and modern Western existential/phenomenological traditions. Maintains a resource site for Laozi/Daodejing studies: Laozi Resource.
