Dr. Anthi Andronikou is a Lecturer in History of Art at the University of Glasgow, specializing in early modern and late medieval art with a focus on Italy and the eastern Mediterranean. She previously held postdoctoral fellowships at the University of St Andrews and Princeton, and curated the Pittas Collection.
- Education: BA (Art and Archaeology, Athens), MLitt and PhD (Renaissance and Late Medieval Italian Art, St Andrews)
Her research explores artistic contacts between Italy, Cyprus, and the Levant, transcultural interactions in Christian and Islamic visual cultures, and the reception of Arabic script in early modern art. She is working on a monograph titled The Medieval Art of Translation: Visual Culture in the Eastern Mediterranean, c.1200-1300, analyzing cross-cultural dialogues in art.
Recent publications include Italy, Cyprus, and Artistic Exchange in the Medieval Mediterranean (Cambridge University Press, 2022) and contributions to journals like Art Bulletin and Frankokratia. She has received awards from the British Academy, British School at Rome, and Dumbarton Oaks.

Anthi teaches the undergraduate course Early Modern Ecologies, 1300-1600 and welcomes PhD supervision inquiries related to her research areas. She is currently researching the artistic dialogues between Eastern Christian and Islamic cultures, including the use of Arabic script in southern Italy.
