Dr. Ante Novokmet is an Associate Professor and Vice-Dean for Development and Business at the Faculty of Law, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek. He holds a PhD in Criminal Law from the University of Zagreb, with a dissertation on 'Judicial Control of the Accusation'. His teaching spans undergraduate and postgraduate law programs, including criminal procedure, international criminal law, and European Union criminal law.
Education:

- PhD: Postgraduate Doctoral Study in Criminal Law, University of Zagreb
Research Focus: His work centers on EU criminal law harmonization, criminal procedure reforms, victims' rights, and judicial cooperation. He leads projects funded by the Croatian Science Foundation, including 'Croatian Misdemeanor Law in the European Context' and 'Systematic Approach to Consensual Justice Models'.

Grants & Collaborations: He contributed to EU-funded projects like 'CoCoCrim' and 'NegJusCro', and advised on the 'Plea-Bargaining Agreement' initiative. He chairs the University's Committee for Statutory and Legal Affairs and serves on the State Attorney's Council.
Professional Engagements: A member of the Croatian Association for Criminal Sciences, European Criminal Law Association, and Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law (research stays). He edits legal journals and organizes international conferences.
