Ansley Tullos Gilpin

Dr. Ansley Tullos Gilpin is an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Alabama's College of Arts & Sciences, where she directs the Knowledge in Development (K.I.D.) Lab. Her primary research examines cognitive development in children, with specific focus on executive functions, fantasy orientation, and socioemotional learning. She holds secondary affiliations with the Center for Youth Development & Intervention.

Her research program investigates:

• The relationship between pretend play and executive function development
• Children's understanding of fantasy/reality distinctions
• Emotion regulation strategies in early childhood
• School readiness interventions for at-risk populations
• Therapeutic applications of play for ASD
