Annisa Sabrina Hartoto is a researcher and PhD candidate in Anthropology and Development Studies at the University of Melbourne, focusing on gender, power, and resistance in land conflicts in Indonesia. With over a decade of experience in development programs, her work bridges grassroots activism and academic research.

Research Interests: Her scholarship intersects environmental anthropology, feminist political ecology, and agrarian change, emphasizing women's collective action and state-society dynamics in rural Indonesia.
Key Projects: Collaborated with Assoc Prof Rachael Diprose on resilience of women's empowerment interventions and with Assoc Prof Kate Macdonald on sustainability standards in cocoa/coffee sectors. Played a central role in an edited volume on gender-inclusive rural development with Universitas Gadjah Mada and MAMPU support.
Labs/Teams: Active in collaborative research teams between the University of Melbourne and Universitas Gadjah Mada.
