Annika Rickne is an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Management and Engineering, Linköping University. She holds a PhD in Technology Management (Chalmers University, 2000) and is a Docent in Technology Management (Lund University, 2005). Her research focuses on innovation, entrepreneurship, and industrial dynamics, examining how new knowledge drives economic growth and shapes industries. She has held academic positions at Chalmers, Lund University (CIRCLE), the University of Gothenburg, and KTH.
Her research projects include studies on visualisation technology growth, renewable energy strategies in Mozambique, and policy frameworks for regenerative medicine in California. Teaching interests span innovation systems, entrepreneurship, and industrial dynamics. She collaborates with the Project, Innovations and Entrepreneurship (PIE) division, emphasizing applied research in innovation governance and technology-based organizations.
Her work bridges strategy and policy, analyzing firm behavior, university roles, and globalization’s impact on innovation systems. She employs diverse methods: case studies, surveys, bibliometrics, and policy interviews.
