Annika Mahncke is a Researcher and Scientific Associate at the Department of Aesthetics and Philosophy of Culture, University of Greifswald, within the Käthe Kluth Junior Research Group. She serves under Prof. Dr. Annika Schlitte and focuses on interdisciplinary cultural and aesthetic philosophy.
Education & Career:
- Since February 2024: Research Assistant at the Institute of Philosophy (University of Greifswald).
- January 2024: First State Examination in Philosophy and German, thesis on 'Homeland' in Jan Patočka and Helmuth Plessner.
- 2018–2024: Studies in secondary school teaching (Philosophy and German).
Research Interests:
Her dissertation project, titled *'The decentring of the human in Jan Patočka's asubjective phenomenology'*, challenges anthropocentric critiques of phenomenology. It explores Patočka’s philosophy to demonstrate how asubjective phenomenology avoids epistemological/ethical anthropocentrism and Western human-centric frameworks.
