Annie Kato is an Assistant Professor of Management at the School of Business, Government & Economics at Seattle Pacific University (SPU). She joined SPU in 2020 after completing her PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology at The Graduate Center, City University of New York. Her teaching focuses on Human Resources and Leadership courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Annie’s research explores the intersection of diversity, technology, and validity in employee selection processes. Her work aims to enhance methods for measuring individual differences in organizational contexts. Prior to her academic career, she gained seven years of industry experience at The Boeing Company in Finance and HR roles, followed by two years at a human resources consulting firm.
She actively integrates her Christian theological perspective on work into teaching, emphasizing business as a means to serve the common good. Annie is committed to mentoring students and developing leaders who can build effective, sustainable organizations.
