معرفی
Annie Britton is a Professor of Epidemiology and Head of the UCL Research Department of Epidemiology & Public Health since 2023. She holds a PhD from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (2001), an MSc from the University of Oxford (1995), and a BA (Honours) from the University of Oxford (1993). Her research focuses on cardiovascular medicine, public health, and epidemiological studies of chronic diseases. Key areas include alcohol consumption patterns, ultra-processed food impacts on health, and diabetes prediction models.
Her work utilizes large longitudinal cohorts like the Whitehall II study, examining trajectories of health behaviors over decades. Notable contributions include studies on alcohol-related liver disease, cardiometabolic risk factors, and the interplay between social determinants and health outcomes. She leads collaborations on systematic reviews of workplace interventions for cardiovascular diseases and dental practice-based alcohol screening programs.
Recent research highlights include analyzing ultra-processed food's role in cardiovascular mortality and diabetes incidence, as well as investigating alcohol consumption's effects on musculoskeletal pain and medication interactions in older adults. Her publications emphasize translational epidemiology, aiming to inform public health policies and clinical practices.
