معرفی
apl. Prof. Dr. Annette Paatz serves as a Professor in the Department of Romance Philology at the University of Göttingen, specializing in Hispanic and Latin American literary traditions. Her academic work focuses on the intersection of literature, gender, and transcultural dynamics across Ibero-American contexts.
Research Interests: Professor Paatz investigates Spanish and Latin American literature from the 19th century onward, with particular expertise in the functional history of the Latin American novel during the 19th century. Her research explores contemporary female writers from Argentina, Chile, and Spain, examining diversity within Romance cultures and the intersections of literature, feminism, and transculturality among women authors in Spain and Latin America (1900-1940). Her current project "Circulante y actuante": Weibliche Autorschaft und Transnationalität im iberoamerikanischen Raum (1910-1940) analyzes female authorship and transnationality in the Ibero-American space.
Recent Publication: Her 2024 work examines 19th century Hispanic American novels as attributes of modernity, analyzing their role in liberal sociability projects while addressing tensions between commercial interests and moral concerns. The study investigates previously overlooked Chilean and Argentine novels through material, pragmatic, and media-focused lenses.
Teaching: For Winter Semester 2024/25, Professor Paatz teaches courses including El cuento femenino en Hispanoamérica, Latin American Female Authors of Modernity, and directs the Master and Research Colloquium in Iberoromance Literary Studies.
