Annegret Oehme is an Associate Professor in the Department of German Studies at the University of Washington. She earned her Ph.D. from Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2011 through the Carolina-Duke Graduate Program in German. Her research focuses on medieval and early modern German and Yiddish literature, emphasizing cultural transfers within a German-Jewish context.

Her work examines the adaptations of the Arthurian text "Wigalois" across languages (Yiddish and German) and media (manuscripts, prints, wall paintings, comics) from the 13th to 21st centuries. She has authored two books on this topic: "The Knight Without Boundaries" (Brill, 2021) and "He Should Have Listened to His Wife" (De Gruyter, 2020).
She has published articles in prominent journals such as The German Quarterly, Ashkenaz, Daphnis, and Arthuriana. Her research bridges literary analysis, historical context, and interdisciplinary cultural studies. Contact: oehme@uw.edu
