Anne Veere Hoogbergen is a Doctoral Candidate at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), affiliated with the Faculty of Built Environment and the Department of Architectural History and Theory. Her academic journey includes a Bachelors in Architectural History (Utrecht University, 2019), an MA in Heritage and Memory Studies (University of Amsterdam, 2021), and an MSc in Cultural Anthropology: Sustainable Citizenship (Utrecht University, 2021). She is a recipient of the 2022 Albert van der Zeijden Thesis Prize for her work on ecological nostalgia and intangible heritage preservation.
Her research focuses on socio-cultural processes, the interplay between nature and culture, and the preservation of intangible heritage. Notable projects include exploring ecological nostalgia in Dutch ice-skating traditions and participatory assessments in coastal heritage sites. She has contributed to interdisciplinary studies combining anthropology, environmental science, and cultural preservation.
Her 2024 conference paper on Living Labs for participatory risk assessments in heritage sites highlights climate adaptation strategies, while her 2022 work on domestic servants' history examines overlooked socio-cultural narratives in architectural contexts.
