Professor Anne Valen Skisland holds a position at the University of Agder's Department of Health and Nursing Science within the Faculty of Health and Sports Science. She specializes in nursing education, medical ethics, and research ethics. With a background in health sciences from the University of Bergen, she has led significant projects addressing moral development in nursing education, minority student experiences, and pandemic impacts on healthcare education. Currently serving as Pro-Dean and Chair of the Faculty's Research Ethics Committee, she also leads the Master's program in Advanced Clinical Nursing.
Her research focuses on ethical challenges in healthcare, including minority students' educational barriers, pandemic effects on nursing students, and moral development measurement tools like the Moral Development Scale for Professionals (MDSP). She has authored over 30 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, emphasizing qualitative methodologies in healthcare education and ethics.
