Anne Opsal is an Associate Professor and Study Coordinator for the bachelor's nursing program at the University of Agder's Department of Health and Nursing Science. She holds a Doctorate from the University of Oslo and a Major in Nursing Science from the University of Bergen. With 19 years of clinical experience at Haukeland University Hospital and Sørlandet Hospital HF, she has worked as a nurse, unit manager, and researcher. She also serves as a Research Supervisor at Sørlandet Hospital HF's research unit.
Her research focuses on nursing education, clinical training methods, substance use disorders, and healthcare quality improvement. Key projects include 'Improving Clinical Training for the Nurses of Tomorrow' (Encore) and contributions to the ProfHealth interdisciplinary research group. Her work bridges clinical practice and education, emphasizing blended learning and distance education strategies in nursing.
Notable publications explore preoperative care optimization, patient experiences in addiction treatment, and evidence-based nursing practices. Her research often addresses gaps in healthcare delivery through systematic reviews and qualitative studies.
