Anne-Sophie Hulin is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Sherbrooke, where she has been teaching since 2022. She holds the Research Chair in Social Justice and Artificial Intelligence (Fondation Abeona/ENS-PSL/OBVIA) and is a visiting professor at Université Laval. Previously, she served as Associate Director and Research Project Director at the Paul-André Crépeau Centre for Private and Comparative Law (McGill University, 2014-2020) and completed postdoctoral research at ANITI (Artificial and Natural Intelligence Toulouse Institute) and the University of Ottawa.
Her research focuses on private law, comparative law, data governance, and AI regulation through interdisciplinary approaches. She examines collective governance models for digital data (health, cultural, urban) and explores legal tools like data trusts. Current work investigates how data sharing can advance social justice in algorithmic systems.
Recent publications emphasize data governance frameworks, AI regulation, and cultural heritage law, particularly exploring civil law adaptations for digital challenges. Her scholarship demonstrates consistent focus on how private law institutions can serve public interest goals.
