Anne Satterthwaite

Anne Satterthwaite is Associate Professor in Internal Medicine and Immunology at UT Southwestern Medical Center, holding the Peggy Chavellier Professorship. She earned bachelor's (MIT) and doctoral degrees (Harvard), completing postdoctoral training at UCLA.

Research examines B lymphocyte development, activation, and differentiation in normal immunity and autoimmune diseases like lupus. Focuses on signaling balance between B cell receptors and inhibitory pathways, especially Lyn, Ets1, and Btk interactions that control antibody production and tolerance.

Publications demonstrate how disrupting this balance leads to autoimmunity, with therapeutic implications. Recent work explores IL-21's role in autoantibody production and Btk inhibition strategies for lupus treatment.

Honors include Southwestern Medical Foundation Scholar award. Chairs Immunology Graduate Program and serves on Women in Science Advisory Committee.
