Anne Perwuelz

Anne Perwuelz serves as a Full Professor at the National Higher School of Textile Arts and Industries (ENSAIT), where she leads research in sustainable textile engineering and process development. Her work bridges academic research with industrial applications through GEMTEX laboratory and Tex&Care circular fashion initiative.

Her research program spans three interconnected domains:

• Textile Surfaces and Interfaces at multiple scales
• Sustainable Textile Treatments using eco-friendly processes
• Ecodesign InTextiles: Comprehensive Environmental Assessment of textile products and manufacturing processes

Dr. Perwuelz's scholarly output reflects her commitment to sustainable textile innovation, with 70 peer-reviewed journal publications and 140 international conference presentations focusing on life cycle assessment, green chemistry applications, and circular economy implementation in textile manufacturing. Her recent work demonstrates increasing emphasis on flax-based textiles, ozone treatment technologies, and wood cellulose dissolution processes.

She actively contributes to industry standards through leadership positions including Vice President of ACIT (Association of Chemists of Textile Industry) and former President of ECOCERT-Greenlife's textile certification committee. Her grant portfolio includes major projects like REGENCELL (ANR-funded green cellulose processing), CLEANTEX (Erasmus+ circular textiles strategy), and ECyTWIN (Interreg eco-cycle innovation).

At ENSAIT, she teaches Master's level courses in Sustainability in Textiles and Surface Thermodynamics, while mentoring doctoral students at Lille University on responsible innovation and Life Cycle Thinking methodologies. Her research laboratory focuses on practical applications of wetting, adhesion, and impregnation science to develop next-generation sustainable textile treatments.
