Anne Marie Todd is a Professor and Dean of the College of Social Sciences (CoSS) at San José State University since 2023. Her academic career spans over two decades at SJSU, where she teaches environmental communication, rhetoric, and popular culture. She has developed and taught more than 20 courses, including a pioneering interdisciplinary seminar on Global Climate Change.

Her research focuses on environmental aesthetics, sense of place, sustainability education, and integrative learning. Her scholarship examines how environmental rhetoric shapes community history and identity, with notable publications including Valley of Heart's Delight and Communicating Environmental Patriotism.
Her academic work has been recognized with the Christine L. Oravec Environmental Communication Research Award, SJSU Teaching Excellence Award (2013), and SJSU Outstanding Professor Award (2015). She is a founding member of the International Environmental Communication Association and serves on the advisory board of the Green Ninja Project.
