Anne-Marie Rice

Anne-Marie Rice is a Senior Judicial Registrar and Executive Director of Registrar Practice and Operations at the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, and a Lecturer at the University of Queensland Law School. With over 25 years of experience, she is an award-winning solicitor and mediator specializing in family law and alternative dispute resolution. She serves on the Attorney General's Family Law Council and has held executive roles in organizations like the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia and the Queensland Law Society.

Her research focuses on practical conflict resolution methodologies, including mediation, arbitration, and collaborative law. She emphasizes resolving disputes without litigation through a 'positive approach' and trains practitioners nationally. At UQ, she teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Alternative Dispute Resolution and Mediation, reviving core subjects to equip students with real-world legal skills.
