Anne-Marie GAGNÉ is an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Linguistics and Translation at the University of Montreal. Her research focuses on translator-tool relationships, agency in translation, sociology and history of translation in the 20th and 21st centuries, translation editions, field methods in translation studies, epistemology of social sciences, terminology translation, and the role of translation in social sciences history.
She leads two research projects funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC):
- "La relation traducteur(trice)-technologies au fil du temps" (2024–2027): Examines evolving translator-technology interactions through in-depth interviews.
- "Attitudes et perceptions des traducteur/trices des outils de traduction automatique" (2023–2025): Explores perceptions of automated translation tools.
