Anne-Marie Boulay is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal and a member of the International Reference Centre for the Life Cycle of Products, Processes and Services (CIRAIG). She holds the Canada Research Chair in Impacts of Plastics in the Environment and chairs international working groups such as MARILCA (UN Environment and FSLCI) on marine impacts in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
Her research focuses on

- Water footprint and scarcity metrics (AWARE model)
- Marine environmental impacts of plastic pollution
- Microplastics and nanoplastics in LCA
- Climate change integration in environmental modeling

Scientific awards include the SETAC Europe Young Scientist Award (2014). Her work bridges academic research with policy through collaborations with UNEP and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization.
