Anne-Marie Beller is a Senior Lecturer in Victorian Literature at Loughborough University, where she has taught since 2004 and holds permanent status since 2008. She serves as School Director of Widening Participation and Outreach and Ethics Officer for the English department, with research deeply rooted in Victorian literary studies.
She earned her PhD from the University of Leicester in 2003. Her academic trajectory reflects sustained commitment to Victorian scholarship through teaching, editorial work, and institutional leadership roles.
Dr. Beller specializes in sensation fiction, neo-Victorian adaptations, and 19th-century women writers, with particular expertise on Mary Elizabeth Braddon, Wilkie Collins, and Elizabeth Siddal. Her research examines gender representation, transgressive narratives, and the literary marketplace, frequently intersecting with travel writing and New Woman fiction of the 1890s. She explores how Victorian texts resonate in contemporary culture through neo-Victorian reinterpretations.
