معرفی
Anne Magurran is a Professor in Ecology & Evolution at the University of St Andrews, Scotland, with a career spanning over three decades. She has held leadership roles, including Director of the Centre for Biological Diversity (2013-2019), and her research focuses on quantifying biodiversity change across spatial and temporal scales.
Her work combines fieldwork, experimental studies, and advanced statistical modeling to address the biodiversity crisis. She has collaborated globally across five continents and led the ERC-funded BioTIME project, which reshaped understanding of biodiversity trends in the Anthropocene. Her research has been recognized at high-profile events like the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Magurran's scholarly output includes over 200 peer-reviewed papers in top-tier journals (Nature, Science) and influential monographs. She has received numerous accolades, including a CBE (2022) and ERC Advanced Grants. Her work emphasizes biodiversity measurement, community ecology, and the impacts of invasive species and habitat changes.
