Teaching Professor Anne M Stachura serves as Coordinator of the Spanish Community Based Learning Program and Community Outreach and Co-chair of the Language Studies Council at Franklin & Marshall College. She holds a Ph.D. in Spanish from the University of Virginia (2012), an M.A. from the same institution (2008), and a B.S. from the University of Michigan (2003).
Her research expertise centers on 21st-Century Latin American Literature and Film, with published work analyzing globalization and violence in Contemporary Mexican novels and film. Current investigations focus on representations of caregiving in contemporary Spanish and Latin American literatures. She has significant experience in Medical Humanities, having directed the Medical Spanish for Heritage Learners Program at the University of Texas-Pan American where she taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Spanish and Medical Humanities.
Professor Stachura actively shapes language education policy through the Language Studies Council and develops community partnerships via the Spanish Community Based Learning Program, emphasizing practical language application in real-world contexts.
