Anne-Lise Boyer is a Researcher at the Climate Assessment for the Southwest (CLIMAS) within the University of Arizona's College of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape Architecture (CAPLA). Previously, she served as a Research Fellow at the International Research Lab Iglobes (CNRS-UA) hosted by Biosphere 2, focusing on drought resilience and climate adaptation in Southwest ecosystems.
- PhD in Geography and Planning, Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon (France)
Her research interrogates the socioecological dynamics of climate adaptation through political ecology frameworks, emphasizing heat resilience in vulnerable communities, water governance in desert cities, and conflicts over resource management. Recent publications explore interdisciplinary approaches to arid region sustainability, including media-driven policy debates, community stewardship paradoxes, and critiques of techno-optimist climate solutions.
Current projects bridge climate science and decision-making, particularly in rural/tribal borderlands of the U.S. Southwest. She employs critical discourse analysis and participatory methods to examine environmental narratives in both traditional and digital media platforms.
