Anne Krogstad

Professor Anne Krogstad is a leading academic at the Department of Sociology and Human Geography, University of Oslo (UiO), holding the rank since 2006. She specializes in political communication, comparative political leadership, and cultural sociology. Her research explores topics such as media studies, subcultures (punk/graffiti), and the sociology of the senses. She has supervised numerous PhD students and held leadership roles at UiO, including Programme Director of KULKOM (2006–2022) and Chair of POLKOM (2015–2024).

Education: PhD in Social Anthropology from UiO (1999), with visiting scholar positions at UC Santa Barbara, UC Berkeley, and the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (Paris).
